Commercial Reality Programs

AzCI’s interventionist model ensures that companies receive practical, hands-on assistance early in the innovation process. This structured approach helps companies to bridge the gaps between discovery and commercialization dramatically increasing the likelihood turning these ventures into reality.

There are three Commercial Reality programs suited to fit the entrepreneur at any phase of their launch process. Over the 9 month Commercial Reality supports the company through the business planning process, protecting their intellectual property, assembling the team, securing their seed funding, and developing the prototype. During this time the company is an Affliate client, participating in the structured sessions, having access to business development resources and sharing office space at AzCI.

The venture begins as an affiliate client participating in a 90 day program called Commercial Reality Mentored Launch. The company participates in a series of six sessions each focused on an important aspect of launching their venture. In addition to the formal training there are individual mentoring consultation sessions. At the end of theses sessions, the company has been introduced to the entrepreneurial community that will support their efforts. A business plan is completed along with a set of investor slides. Ultimately the goal is to determine if this venture is commercially feasible.

Commercial Reality Start-up is the next six month program. The company participates in a monthly session that addresses key business concepts in greater depth. They also have access to ongoing mentoring from AzCI as well as an assigned community Business Mentor. Team and advisory board formation is an important activity during this six months. Securing seed funding from state and government grant organizations is the priority at this phase.

Commercial Reality Expert Panel provides the company an opportunity to present their investor pitch to a panel of investors and business experts. Each quarter this expert panel is held for 2-4 companies ready to market their presentations.
