Our Application and Selection Process
The magic of incubation starts with the right number of ventures, an interesting and complementary mix of projects, and a strong ratio of appropriate partners (advisors and mentors) to entrepreneurs. Acceptance to an incubator is a significant milestone in your venture development. It provides instant credibility, immediate access to key partnerships, and increases your chances of success.
Our application process is designed to help us understand how we can help you, and to ensure a right fit for your venture needs. Here's how it works:
- Apply. Fill out the short application form or contact us.The application includes general questions about your business; please fill in what you can and this will give us a great starting point for our discussions.
- Meet. After receiving your application, we will meet to triage your venture, identify company needs, and conduct early due diligence on the concept and technology. We will not ask you to disclose anything confidential – just enough information to help us understand whether or not we have access to the expertise you may need.
- Present. If we both agree this is a good fit, we will invite you to present your venture to our Admissions Review team -- our executive staff along with representatives from industry, community, and University leadership. The team will help us to identify additional resources we may bring to your business and give the final approval for admission to the incubator. These review meetings typically occur once per month, but we may be able to expedite the process if necessary.
Companies pay a small monthly fee to participate in the AzCI program. Fees vary based on the developmental stage of your company, and scholarships or stipends may be available.
